Snehalayam 2020

A KCS Women's Forum Initiative

A Project to build a house for an underprivileged family in Kerala
~ No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted ~

Your donation today will help us build a home for a lifetime and give hope for Amina and Mariyakutti and her children.

This year, our beneficiary for Snehalayam is a widow, Amina, and her daughter Mariyakutti, from Kozhikkode district. Mariyakutti is a  differently-abled person with Spine Disorders. She has two small children, and her husband is not taking care of the family. Amina is shouldering the responsibilities of her daughter and two grandchildren. Their current house is very old and made of soil blocks and sheets. It is partly damaged and can crumble down any time. It is not safe for the family with small children to live in that house.

From a list of proposed beneficiaries, Amina and Mariyakutti were chosen to receive financial support from the donations we collect to build a house. An estimated total cost to build a house is Rs. 610,000 (under $9 K). Darsana, a charity organization registered in Palakkad, Kerala, has agreed to oversee the construction and completion of the house by the end of the year (dependent on the funds received).

You can also support by playing for a cause. Join the online card games happening through November  - every dollar helps!

Donate Today! Together, our kindness can make this world a safer place, one home at a time.
