KCS Women's forum organized Stitch-n-Style, a series of classes covering sewing, stitching and tailoring. The classes were held on March 15th, May 3rd and May 31st 2014.

Summer Dreams 2014 - Colors of Love

”Summer Dreams 2014 – Colors of Love”, was held on Saturday, May 10th, 2014 at 5:00pm at High Point High School Auditorium, 3601 Powder Mill Road, Beltsville MD 20705. It was an enjoyable and spectacular evening filled with cultural events comprising of melodious music and electrifying dances by our own talented artists.

Yesudas: Yesterday and Today

Yesterday & Today show celebrating 50th year of singing by Dr. K J Yesudas on May 17th, 2014 was a huge success. It was a memorable evening that lasted for more than 4 hours and the audience was glued to the seats till the very end as Dr K J Yesudas and team rendered old and new melodies from Malayalam, Tamil & Hindi movies.

Mind Body & Soul Workshop

KCS Women's forum organized a Mind Body and Soul workshop on June 7th, 2014. The workshop was a combination of yoga, self defense and martial arts. The workshop uplifted the mind, body and spirit of all those who attended. The workshop was conducted by Professor Jamal.

Kalari Dinam

KCS Kalari, the Malayalam and Cultural Awareness Program is the accredited member of Malayalam Mission of Kerala. KCS Kalari supports the Malayalam Mission’s goal of spreading Malayalam language and culture all over the world. The annual day event of KCS Kalari was celebrated as Kalari Dinam on June 14, 2014.

Family Picnic

Family, friends and great food made the hiking and family picnic on Saturday, July 19th a day cherished by all. This event was organized at Cunningham Falls State Park by the KCSMW Women's forum from noon to sunset.

Adopt a Road

KCS youth took more than just a pledge of cleanliness. Even before "Clean India" became cool, the youth members of KCS took the initiative to clean the roads in Washington metro area. On August 16th, 2014 a group of KCS youth members and benefactors joined hands in picking up trash from the roads. It was hard work but the satisfaction of doing the right thing was beyond words

KCS Onam Mela - Utsav 2014

Keralites of Metropolitan Washington community came in en masse to celebrate Onam on September 13, 2014 at Laurel High School. Organized by KCSMW, it was a spectacular community celebration with great food and a stunning display of cultural events.

Health Fair at GNFA

The KCS youth group took initiative in organizing a Health Fair for the Indian Community along with Guru Nanak Foundation of America (GNFA). Health Fair at GNFA was held on Sep 14, 2014 and was well attended.

DC Central Kitchen

The KCS youth group joined hands in preparing meals for DC Central Kitchen. Youth group volunteers helped DC Central Kitchen staff cut chicken, chop salad and bake biscuits on September 20, 2014.

Maryland Food Bank

Maryland Food Bank's Operation Backpack project had a helping hand from KCS Youth on October 11, 2014. An event organized by the KCS Youth group had around 15 KCS volunteers bagging food for distribution to the needy children in the area. It was an enriching experience.

Charity Dinner

KCS Women's Forum organized a fundraising dinner on November 1st for three charitable organizations that supports underprivileged children in Kerala. The entire proceeds from the dinner will be used to sponsor children of the three charity organizations: Little Flower Mercy Home, Senkulam, Emmanuel Snehasramam, Thodupuzha, and Dr. Ambedkar Memorial Orphanage and Rehabilitation Center, Attingal. The event had a big show of support from the Washington Malayali community.

Charity Card Game

Countless hours spend and perfected in the wee hours of the college dorms with 28, 40, 56, and Rummy card games were channeled for a Charity cause organized by KCSMW. During the three weekends in November, about 50 participants competed in the Card game tournament to raise money to support the three charitable organizations in Kerala.

Rock 'N' Jingle - 2014

A grand X'mas and New year celebration organized by KCSMW in partnership with KAGW was held on December 13th at Quince Orchard High School. An evening of scintillating performances enthralled the audience in the packed auditorium. A sumptuous dinner followed and was enjoyed by all.

Montgomery Village Avenues Women Center‏‎ - 2014

“No joy can equal the joy of serving others.”

KCS Women's forum members helped spread the joy and the spirit of giving in the last event of 2014 by helping the unprivileged women in our community. Montgomery Avenues Women's Center in Rockville is a day time shelter for homeless women. KCS Women's forum members collected donations for the center and also cooked and served a sumptuous lunch for the women on December 20, 2014.
