Secretary’s Message
Dear Malayali friends,
I feel honoured and privileged to be part of the KCS team that is committed to the welfare and cultural upliftment of the Malayalee community in the Washington, D.C. metro area. I can not thank you enough for giving me this opportunity to serve the Malayali community as the Secretary of Kerala Cultural Society.
While I take up this challenge with excitement and vigour, I am convinced that I can count on the support of an enthusiastic, dedicated and caring group of people. We are bound by the chords of a glorious cultural heritage that cannot be broken and KCS helps preserve our tradition, language and culture. At KCS, we strive to offer numerous opportunities for the youth to broaden their horizons and learn to engage in activities in service of the community. Let me pause a moment here to thank you for your invaluable contributions during previous years which paved the way for the success of our past events. We seek the same from you in the current year as well, for we believe it’s teamwork that ultimately pays! So, please join us in making our next event, Summer Dreams 2010, a blast! And we assure you an exciting day full of colourful and quality entertainment.
I would also like to invite your active participation in the Malayalam classes being held monthly to foster cultural growth and awareness among the younger generation. Our goal is to give them a rewarding learning experience that is stimulating, yet comfortable.
As we explore new and creative ideas for engaging the whole community, we really appreciate your help and support in achieving our common goal, best summed up as 'nurture talents while preserving values'.
Sincerely yours,
~ Jinesh Kumar
